Former Agniveers to Receive Special Benefits in CISF, BSF, RPF Recruitment

Former Agniveers to Receive Special Benefits in CISF, BSF, RPF Recruitment: In a significant development, former Agniveer soldiers are set to receive substantial benefits in recruitment drives for various central armed forces, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Railway Protection Force (RPF). As per the newly introduced Agnipath recruitment scheme, these forces will reserve 10% of constable posts specifically for ex-Agniveers.

Under this initiative, ex-Agniveers will not only benefit from reserved job quotas but also enjoy exemptions in physical tests and age relaxations during recruitment processes. The age relaxation will be particularly advantageous, with the initial batch receiving a five-year relaxation and subsequent batches receiving three years.

Director General Nina Singh of the CISF affirmed the force’s commitment to implementing this decision, highlighting its potential to attract well-trained and disciplined personnel. “This move will be mutually beneficial as it ensures the CISF receives highly capable individuals,” she stated, as reported by DD News.

Similarly, BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal emphasized the merit of recruiting ex-Agniveers, noting their extensive four years of experience and disciplined training. “They bring valuable skills and a strong sense of discipline,” Agrawal remarked, underscoring the positive impact on BSF’s operational capabilities.

The RPF also joined in providing opportunities for ex-Agniveers, with Director General Manoj Yadava announcing a 10% reservation in all future constable recruitments. Yadava expressed optimism about the enhanced strength and morale that ex-Agniveers would bring to the force.

However, the Agnipath scheme has not been without controversy, drawing criticism from several opposition parties, including the Congress, who question the fate of the 75% of Agniveers not retained after their initial four-year tenure.

Despite these concerns, the government remains committed to implementing the Agnipath scheme, aiming to bolster the ranks of central armed forces with skilled personnel from the Agniveer community. This initiative marks a concerted effort to leverage the experience and dedication of ex-Agniveers in enhancing the security apparatus of the nation.
